Day of Arrival (Day 1)

Your day of arrival is a day to relax, have a body massage, swim, join our meditation session, and prepare for your program beginning the following morning.

 

You will have an hour long consultation & constitutional analysis at this time, following which your Ayurvedic Vaidya will offer suggestions to your dietary, treatment and exercise program for your time at EE, with reference to your goal, level of commitment, and present condition.

Virechan is the cleansing of the small intestines and Pitta related organs (liver & gall bladder) by a herb induced purging process. Virechan works to remove Ama and balance all metabolic functions, avoiding bile related problems of rashes, skin inflammation, acne, chronic attacks of fever, biliary vomiting, and nausea.
A mini Virechan treatment will begin your program. This may even be administered on the day of arrival.

 

Day 2 – 4:  Purvakarma begins with internal oelation

 

Snehapan is the administering of medicated ghee which carries and delivers herbs through your body, loosening and / or collecting ama (toxins). The ghee will not be digested, and you will not put on weight! However, it is very heavily medicated, and although varies for each client, we are sorry to inform you no authentic concoction is in any way palatable!

 

During these three days, you will be on a clean, simple vegetarian diet.
You will have a great awareness of different sensations through your body during this period. It is important to be aware of these sensations as these are signs of the progress of the internal oelation, and will have great bearing on the evolution of your treatment over these three (up to 5) days (for example, the amount and timing of ghee to be administered, accompanying herb selection, commencement time of external oelation, etc).

Luxurious massages using herbalized oils imported from pharmacies in India cause superficial and deep tissues to supple. This process nourishes the nervous system and helps loosen and facilitate the removal of accumulated ama (toxins) from the body. They are each followed by Swedana - Herbalized steam, used to induce sweating, dilates the srotas (channels of circulation), further loosening and removing impurities through the skin and gastrointestinal tract.

2 x Abhyanga Mardana and Swedana (one therapist)
1 x Shirodhara and Swedana (two therapists)
3 x Nasya

The main purgation herbs are administered in the morning, to induce the purging process and remove all the toxins gathered by the prior 6 days of purvakarma. This is a day of ‘motion, and rest’.

 

You may checkout on this day. We recommend that you plan to checkout anytime after 1pm, and are welcome to stay at the retreat as late as you like on this day.

 

You may even choose to reward yourself with a facial or a body wrap on this day if you haven’t had one earlier in the program.

 

Physical detoxification is achieved through the program as described above. But it does not stop here:
It is important to be aware of the accompanying emotional detoxification during your time in this comfortable, safe, unpretentious and homely environment.

For Longer Programs of 7 - 28 Nights:
Following this detoxification, you may choose any one of our 7 night rejuvenation programs to create your 15 night package. Following this 7 night rest from Panchakarma treatment, you may begin either a Vanama or Basti panchakarma program to create a 21 night program, and a final rejuvenation program to complete your 28 day program.
